October 2 44-180
We will observe Fall Break October 5th through October 16th. School will resume on October 19th.
The week we return to school, we will have a Spirit Week to show our support of our Burns Middle School. We encourage all to participate and show your Bobcat Pride. Monday will be City or Country day, Tuesday will be Past or Future day, Wednesday will be Hero or Villain day, Thursday will be Athlete or Mathlete Day, and Friday will be Creek Wood day or Cougar Pride day. Look for signs posted in the hallways for a reminder. Remember, dress code will still apply.
A fire can break out at any time with little or no warning. The more prepared you and your family are, the safer your will be.
- Our schools emergency drills include emergency evacuation routes in the event of fire or other dangerous events. We also include a secondary exit route in the event our primary route is blocked. Don’t forget it is important for your family to have emergency evacuation routes planned at home in the event of an emergency.
- Once you evacuate a home due to a fire remember to never return inside a burning building. Once out stay out. Firefighters will rescue anyone who needs help. Be sure to include a meeting location for all family members to assemble once you have made it out safely.
- Smoke detectors should be located in every floor of your home and near every bedroom of your home. Smoke detector batteries should be changed twice a year. A great time to remember to change the batteries is when the time changes in the fall and spring.
Talk with your family about your plans for an emergency. Remember the best time to develop plans is before they are needed. This will provide the greatest opportunity for success.
We would like to congratulate the Bobcats football team for winning the Eastern Division in the MCAC last night. Because of the Eastern Division season championship, they will host the MCAC conference Championship.
In Sports over the break: The Bobcats football team will host Charlotte at DCHS on October 6th. Kick-off is at 6:00.
